So my daughter is so stubborn. We have been trying for months to get her potty trained. She will have nothing to do with it unless it is her idea. That how she is about most things in life. She is very independent. Well last week, we had this brilliant idea that if she went on the potty all day she could go swimming the next day. She thought that was a good idea but it got even sweeter when my little sister Megan said that she would come with us. Olivia then went on the potty all day, and didn't have an accident once. She is such a stinker. Well we took her swimming and she went potty at the pool bathrooms too. The next day when she knew the deal was over she refuses to go on the potty. So I've been trying to tell her that she can go swimming again if she goes on the potty everday, she's not buying it. This kid wants instant gratification. I really think she could be pottytrained, but she just wants to wait and see what kind of deal Damon and I will come up with. I have a feeling that we will always have to use bribary with her.

That is so funny. Okay probably not for you sake but i think she is one smart cookie. Good luck with the potty training business. Hopefully she decided it a good idea soon.

One thing that i think might work would be to just let her stay in her wet clothes for a while. She'll realize it uncomfortable and maybe she'll decide it's better to go on the potty.

It's just a thought. And it might take a few days of letting her run around in wet pants but i think she'll get the picture.

I was going to say the same thing as Elizabeth. It may suck for you having to wash out big girl panties, but she'll get the idea.

HAHAHA.....this is so funny Sian. I don't know if Damon is stubborn or not, so I'm gonna have to say that she got it from you!

She is definatly too smart for her own good. At least she will sit on the potty some times, Alyssa won't even sit on it when it is closed. I want to see pictures of your new house too!

It's her Auntie that is the stubborn one lol!!!! Why not just try her with the toilet or just take the nappies away from her now that you know she can do it. If you keep bribing her you'll be doing it for everything and ever! You could have a treat bag with presents wrapped up and the treat bag only comes out when she has been on the potty or toilet all day with no wet clothes. Could have cheap things in there or make a little ticket to signify swimming etc. They are my thoughts anyway!!!!! Good luck xxx
